WGLT Blues Festival, AKA: One of the things this town does right!

$1 Stag-urday at Lucca
This day in June is one of my favorite days of the year.  The wet weather has generally passed, its warm, the motorcycle is our primary vehicle and its Triple Crown Season!

I'm not much of a gambler, but I do like doing a blind draw with a few friends.  It has become one of my few 'marks' of summer!  In addition, the Belmont Stakes is usually the same day as the WGLT Summer Concert on the square in Downtown Bloomington...all of this, walking distance from my house!

So Saturday started with a couple ice-cold Stags and losing my money!  I had Midnight Taboo who had 27-1 odds and ended up 12th out of 14.  Oh well!  On to the show!

Peter Karp & Sue Foley

We arrived at the show missing the first act, but Peter Karp and Sue Foley were on and amazing!  These two have a wonderful stage presence together.  I don't know any other woman who can rock a pink guitar quite like Sue Foley!

The Crown in front of us

We could have brought chairs, but it is much more fun to be able to walk around and talk to the people you know who are there.  The crowd is always amazing and in such a great spirit-it makes me wonder why this doesn't happen every weekend!

The crowd to our right

This isn't even a quarter of the people who were there!  Those standing at the far left are the people dancing.  I was positioned a little closer to the beer truck, myself. : )
