Chicago: Brunch at The Publican

\
On a beautiful Saturday morning, Lisa and I ventured to Fulton Market, home of The Aviary, Next, Little Goat, Maude's and, of course, The Publican.  A 2009 James Beard award winner for Best Restaurant Design, The Publican is known for its ambiance and love for my 3 favorite food groups: beer, pork and oysters.

Upon arrival I'm struck by the silverware and how intricate and beautiful it is (above)...for some reason-silverware was a topic of conversation this weekend!  On Monday my mother pointed out I might recognize it from somewhere (below)-as hers is exactly the same.

(Above) The Brunch Box: montenegro amaro, beer and grapefruit juice!

The adorable sugar cubes for my coffee!
Frites & Fried Eggs!
Bacon [Steaks]: melt in your mouth!  They came with maple syrup...what more can you ask for?
Lisa approved this stuffing-her-face photo!
One of the best things we had all weekend was their halibut ceviche with homemade chips!
Fresh oysters from Canada, New Zeland, Massachusetts, California and Virginia.  The Canadian oysters where my favorite and the color of some of them were amazing!  The one on the top right had the most amazing purples in the shell!

My lovely brunch companion!

Next time you're in Chicago, Fulton Market is the place to go!  So many wonderful places to dine and see!
