Weekly Letter: Stop and Enjoy

My husband and I have been working on getting things ready for the holidays (as I'm sure many of you are). We host a few things during that time and I always feel the push of getting everything looking perfect.

I will see so much more that needs 'done' than he does, but thank goodness he tolerates my little whims and will gently remind me some big idea might take longer than I mean for it to-as he uses careful words to guide me out of the rabbit role I was about to embark on.

It's then I have to remind myself, no one is going to notice the little things I'm choosing to make bigger in my head than they really are. And I breathe and try to move on.

Because when people feel welcome, they relax and get to be more present, just like you do. They will only see the beautiful food you made or the intention behind the gift and not the price. That those who you welcome into your intimate setting will only see your 'flaws' as character. And that's why they made it this far into your world.

Put the dustpan down and look around,

~Carmen
